Since 96 years locals and travellers from all over the globe enjoy the delicious dishes in the PAVILLON. The restaurant PAVILLON was refurbished and renewed in the years 2008 and 2009. The guests can now enjoy the restaurant the whole year round and not only during the summer.

Head Chef of the PAVILLON is Laurent Eperon whose fresh, dynamic and contemporary style is a 21st century interpretation of classic haute cuisine.

Baur Au Lacking.....

I went to the Baur Au Lac in Zurich to try their 'famous' burger. It was the most beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon and we thought the garden would be a beautiful setting. I have been there many time before but never tried the Burger and couldnt think of anything else!

On the menu it states the 'Lac Burger'. I think they should change the name to the 'Lack Burger' as it was lacking in everything. I am not one to send a dish back to the kitchen, but I promptly did with this one. It was bland, all toppings on the side of the plate, sausage meat patty that was so tough and dark it resembled over cooked black pudding (which I have never tried but that is what came to mind). What baffles me is that they still serve this at a famous 5 star restaurant for around 40 CHF. I think its criminal.

The second Burger arrived looking somewhat better, however still tasted like salt and oil, and really that is it. I know a good gourmet burger- and if a Chef at the Baur Au Lac cannot construct a decent gourmet burger??- well, i am quite lost for words.
I rarely rant- but this just had to be said. WISH I took a photograph. It was a joke.

The chicken ceasar salads were very typical of an airport Holiday Inn at 2am and the beef tartar was bland and lacking in any spice whatsoever.

Nevertheless, their Arrabiatta Pasta is excellent if you want to be safe. I highly recommend eating before hand and then spending your time and cash on their Espresso Martini's. They are to die for.
